You are invited to participate in a FREE* course on Building Emotional Resilience in children and young people. It will be held at Penrith Methodist Church on 11 May and 15 June (attendance at both sessions is required) and full details and a booking form are attached. Bookings will be taken on a "first come, first served" basis and we expect a high take-up so please return your completed booking form to me asap if you want to participate.

Course Background:

Children are neither born with or without emotional resilience, it is developed as they negotiate childhood and adolescence and all adults working with children and young people need to ensure they can actively contribute to positive resilience building to equip young people with these skills for life. This course is aimed at anyone working with children and young people who see their role as one which helps young people develop resilience; for example: youth workers, school nurses, children centre staff, teachers, residential care staff, sports workers, uniformed services etc.

Dear Reference Group Members,

I will shortly be circulating the minutes for the 14 February Reference Group meeting and do apologise for the delay in getting these out.  In the meantime I thought it would be useful to circulate the information below from Bruce Lawson who spoke at the meeting about Active Cumbria, Sport England and funding.

Can I also draw your attention to his note below in which he invites you to register with him to be invited to a Scoping Workshop once Sport England announce their Families Fund. Kind regards Christine
