Miscellaneous Information:

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Thanks to the dedication and support of 100,000 amazing volunteers, we are active in every part of the UK, giving girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. In Cumbria South we have over 2200 members. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.

We have units across South Cumbria from Grasmere to Arnside and Sedbergh to Broughton in Furness. The other half of Cumbria is covered by Girlguding Cumbria North.
The units available are Rainbows for 5-7 year olds, Brownies 7-10 years, Guides 10-14 and The Senior Section for 14-25 years. For adults there is support and training to become leaders. Young leaders are aged 14-18 and 18+ can become adult leaders. There are also many other volunteer roles available eg in finance, PR or training. We also have the Trefoil Guild available for adults.

More information and details of how to join us can be found on the national website:
